I once heard someone say about females that the are "catty", and that person did NOT mean it as a compliment. She added "chatty" and "petty" for god measure. Well, Helpful cats and your wisdom is always a joy to meet, the laughter that follows along is a bonus. I congratulate myself that I am a FORMER perfectionist! So, I guess I can join your club. Maria
Suggestion: Why trying to CONTROL them? This creates struggle. Your impulses carries information. Often it's about fear of not being ENOUGH, UNLESS things are PERFECT. Here is the thing: We are enough, by virtue of existing. If we can accept that, we can relax and let go of the struggle. I did this. What a relief! Energy freed up that I could use to create and enjoy it. When I write I do my very best, but I accept that the writing might not be perfect (whatever that is). I could maybe use AI to make it more perfect, but I chose not to. We are humans, perfect in our imperfections. And that's fine. What we create has our own personal signature. Isn't that what we enjoy when we meet each other? I think that being true to who we are is what's important. And there is always room for growth and improvement, but those will only be hindered if we are pestered by the fear of "not good enough". SO WHAT if we fail once in a while (post things too early :)) for instance? Then we try again. The sun will rise tomorrow anyway. Maria
Beautifully said, Maria! I really appreciate how you frame imperfection as part of our human signature - there’s something deeply freeing about that perspective. You’re right that trying to control every detail often comes from fear, not care, and that letting go opens space for real creativity and joy. Thank you for the gentle reminder that authenticity and growth can coexist without the pressure of perfection.
Not that I need permission to be messy, imperfect or pouncy, but to have acknowledgment it’s okay is like an injection of ‘let me test my boundaries without concern I might not make it the first or second attempt.’ I’ll keep trying until I make it.
Once again a 'purr-fect' read David. My question is what is 'perfect' - my 'perfect' can be different from your 'perfect'. So don't bother about it - just do things to your satisfaction and be happy.
There's always a smile in your spot here....love it :)
Thank you Colleen!^_^

Thank you David 🤗
I'm so grateful to hear that Carol, thank you!^_^
It’s often said in recovery meetings that we seek progress over perfection.
Small victories build confidence and can lead to success and happiness in life.
Thank you for your insight Andrew, I agree with everything you just said!^_^
Really CUTE!
Such a cute idea to get your cats to show us wisdom.
Thank you Jane!^_^
